Well today we ventured out in the morning down to the
river’s edge and saw the huge statue across the bay. It was the same statue you
see in Rio de Janeiro. The statues actually face each other across the ocean.
Down the river front Shirley found a wine shop that was serving wines form the
Alentejo region of Portugal. We had our wine tasting and headed back to the
apartment to wait for Anne to arrive from Ireland. She arrived at 1:30 and we
got her settled down and went out for lunch. Lunch was very good until we were
interrupted by flying tables, wine, food and CJ. What happened was a man ran by
and grabbed her bag which was wrapped around her arm which pulled her back
kicking up the table and food and wine everywhere. Wow scary, scary! By the way
she is OK nothing broken and she even kept her bag. After that commotion we
went back to the apartment to decompress. Again we ventured out to catch the
Yellow bus tour that took us on a 1 ½ hour tour around Lisbon. There are 21
stops where you can get off and tour the area and then get back on the bus.
This time we just took the ride tomorrow we will take the bus again and get off
at a couple of places. When we got back to apartment we decided to go to a
restaurant that a friend of Shirley recommended. The food was good but it was
very loud and hot. They were serving food until at least 10:30pm, which is when
we left. Anyway I was tired and was ready to go back to the apartment. I guess
it was a little jet lag. I went to bed early but everyone else stayed up until
2:30am. Another wonderful day.

Great pictures! Jay and I looked at them yesterday. So glad to hear that Cricket is OK. Did she suffer any bruises? Geez, just shows that you're not safe anywhere these days huh? Well enjoy the rest of your trip...and of course the wine and port! :) xx
